The film spins a narrative along the lines of a gothic novel: an alchemist and a feral child pull, psychologically speaking, along the continuum between control and chaos. These poles are embodied by the performers themselves and also by constructed stage sets. Inspired by a particular childhood dream of molten lava colliding with fine, tensile harp strings, the film evokes intense visions where pleasure and anxiety coexist.
